The Grayson
County Fair opens during the summer with “family friendly
activities and events that will excite, thrill, inspire, teach and delight fairgoers
of all ages.” Entertainment is provided by Tropical Illusions, Pigeon Show
& Contest, Battle of the Bands 1st & 2nd Place Winners, Miki the Performing
Monkey, Pumpkin Painting, Thorpo the Clown, Balloon Art, Bands, Chico Bond, Fishing
Derby, Barnyard Zoo, and All Outdoor Kid Fish. Tropical Illusions promotes promote
environmental awareness and wise choice making that helps protect our natural
resources that are shared by all living creatures. The show utilizes music, illusions,
and magic, with high impact entertainment to convey its message.
The Livestock Shows include Jackpot Swine Division, Market
Goat Division, Market Lamb Division, Heifers, and Steers. All market swine,
lamb, goat, steer and breeding heifers compete for ribbons, jackpot prize money
and added prize money. People of all ages can participate on the following fun
competitions: Creative Arts, Battle of the Bands Competition, Song & Dance
Contest, Little Wrangler Rodeo, Livestock, Little Miss Grayson County Fair,
Pet Parade, Fishing Derby, and Wrangler Rodeo. The Creative Arts competition
is divided in categories such as Art, Photography, Arts & Crafts, Clothing,
Baked Goods, Quilts, & Canned Foods.
